Course Aims

The course aims to provide those people within an organization with an understanding of their health and safety role in relation to accident investigation and how this should influence their strategic thinking and holistic risk management and provide them with underpinning knowledge of the system/procedures of the organisation.

The objective of the course is to enable delegates to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of current legislation.
  • Outline the legal requirements of RIDDOR.
  • Produce an incident report sheet.
  • Identify the key factors that can influence accident investigation and how to overcome them.
  • Demonstrate their ability to present information to a wider audience.
  • Produce a witness statement following the accident and answer questions under cross examination.
